Blowing Agent
A blowing agent is a substance which is capable of producing a cellular structure a foaming process in a variety of materials that undergo hardening or phase transition, such as polymers, plastic and metals. They are typically applied when the blown material is in a liquid stage. The cellular structure in a matrix reduces density, increasing thermal and acoustic insulation, while increasing relative stiffness of the original polymer.
Microspheres
are small spherical particles, with diameters in the micrometre range (typically 1 um to 1000 um (1 mm)). Microspheres are sometimes referred to as spherical microparticles. In general microspheres are solid or hollow and do not have a fluid inside, as opposed to microcapsules. Microspheres help in polymer expansion, leading to significant weight reduction, expansion, more coverage. Used in Footwear industry for making the footwear light weight , polymer saving and better cell structure. Used in Paint industry, Ink Industry and many other application.
Processing Aid
Processing aids is a general term that refers to several different classes of materials used to improve the processability and handling of high-molecular-weight polymers. The benefits realized mainly in the melt stage of the host polymer. Two main group of processing aids are Lubricants and Fluoropolmer-based additives.
Impact Modifiers
Impact modifiers are added to plastic compounded materials to improve the durability and toughness of a variety of plastic resins. The amount of impact modifier added depends upon the level of impact resistance needed for end-use applications
