Blowing Agent

Blowing Agent

A blowing agent is a substance which is capable of producing a cellular structure a foaming process in a variety of materials that undergo hardening or phase transition, such as polymers, plastic and metals. They are typically applied when the blown material is in a liquid stage. The cellular structure in a matrix reduces density, increasing thermal and acoustic insulation, while increasing relative stiffness of the original polymer.

Microspheres

Microspheres

are small spherical particles, with diameters in the micrometre range (typically 1 um to 1000 um (1 mm)). Microspheres are sometimes referred to as spherical microparticles. In general microspheres are solid or hollow and do not have a fluid inside, as opposed to microcapsules. Microspheres help in polymer expansion, leading to significant weight reduction, expansion, more coverage. Used in Footwear industry for making the footwear light weight , polymer saving and better cell structure. Used in Paint industry, Ink Industry and many other application.

Processing Aid

Processing Aid

Processing aids is a general term that refers to several different classes of materials used to improve the processability and handling of high-molecular-weight polymers. The benefits realized mainly in the melt stage of the host polymer. Two main group of processing aids are Lubricants and Fluoropolmer-based additives.

Impact Modifiers

Impact Modifiers

Impact modifiers are added to plastic compounded materials to improve the durability and toughness of a variety of plastic resins. The amount of impact modifier added depends upon the level of impact resistance needed for end-use applications

Titanium Dioxide

Titanium Dioxide

Titanium dioxide, also known as titanium(IV) oxide or titania is the naturally Oxide of titanium chemical formula TiO2. When used as a pigment, it is called titanium white, Pigment White 6 (PW6), or CI 77891. It has been estimated that titanium dioxide is used in two-thirds of all pigments, This is the most widespread form of titanium dioxide-bearing ore around the world.

Stearic Acid

Stearic Acid

a saturated long-chain fatty acid with an 18-carbon backbone. Stearic acid is found in various animal and plant fats, and is a major component of cocoa butter and shea butter. NCI Thesaurus (NCIt) Stearic acid is a white solid with a mild odor

Zinc Stearate

Zinc Stearate

a "zinc soap" that is widely used industrially. In this context, soap is used in its formal sense, a metal salt of a fatty acid: in this case stearic acid. It is a white solid that repels water

Polymers (PVC Resin/ EVA)

Polymers (PVC Resin/ EVA)

PVC, in full polyvinyl chloride, a synthetic resin made from the polymerization of vinyl chloride. Second only to polyethylene among the plastics in production and consumption

Pigments

Pigments

a colored material that is completely or nearly insoluble in water. In contrast, dyes are typically soluble, at least at some stage in their use. Generally dyes are often organic compounds whereas pigments are often inorganic compounds.
